We offer a beautiful deformed and heavy Japanese Bizen stoneware tsubo. It has expressive signs and spoils of the pottery making.

The brown colour with a little descent of yellow and orange are giving a smooth warm radiance to the viewer.

It is a unique Tsubo in excellent condition. No repairs, no damage.

It is from the late Edo period, 18-19th century.

A Kannon Bosatsu wooden statue from the early Meiji Period (19th century) with rests of its original paint.

It is a unique peace of buddhist art, as it bears on its back a writing with black ink from a Samurai. The charakters mean Saikoku Sanjusansho (The Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage), made by 'Yasukuni Joza' in the status of Bushi (Samurai) in Bungo area, Oita Prefecture.

There are no similar pieces to find. It is really matchless and singular...

A six panel gold screen decorated in a style harkening to the first half of the Edo featuring angular trees interspersed with blossoming cherries, a torrent splashing angrily through the right quarter topped with moriage gold clouds. Many repairs and losses to the heavy pigments attest to the great age of the painting. Excellent size for wall mounting, it is 62 x 138 inches (157.5 x 350 cm). The border is from a later mounting. Due to size the cost of shipping is to be accrued separately.

This beautiful chawan (tea bowl) was made in the oribe style, a more than four hundred year old tradition from the central part of Japan in the ancient Mino province.

That tradition was in part influenced by tea master and warrior Furuta Oribe (1545-1615) who developed his own style of tea ceremony. The bowl is very well made and in perfect condition. It dates from the mid Edo Period and has no repairs or damages except inborn kiln cracks...
