18” high Japanese Meiji period cloisonne vase featuring a pheasant and dove among maples leaves and flowers set against a pale blue background. The neck is decorated in a dense butterfly and floral pattern highlighted with goldstone. Blue counter enamel to the interior mouth and base. Copper substrate, base, and rims. Dates 1885-1895. 18" high. Good overall condition with some minor age discoloration to the background, a few fine old brown hairlines, and a few small blemishes (see images)...

Japanese Edo period thickly potted Seto stoneware circular form dish with raised edge designed to hold lantern oil. The cream-colored crackle glaze dish is decorated in copper brown in the fukizumi (blown ink) style with a central fish laid over a jar. These dishes were fired in stacks and six spur marks are barely visible in the interior. A Japanese label remains attached to the back. Early to mid-19th century. 8 3/8” diameter x 1 1/8” high...
