This is benibana-dye (Natural safflower dyeing)-shibori and katazome yosegire kimono textile of the Edo era(1800-1867). It has a few thin stains. It has a small damage in several places. However, it is in a state good The red shibori (Tie-dye)is very impressive and beautiful. The pattern on the hem is a traditional Japanese treasure and has a very auspicious design. This is a japanese antique tsutsugaki Indigo dye cotton noren textile of taisyo period(1912-1926). There are some light stains but they are not noticeable. There is one repaired part. Size :: Length: 152cm (59.8 inches) / Width :: 98cm / 38.5inch

One of the most uniquely designed cloisonne round boxes that I ever came across; this is so well done and is absolutely gorgeous, it is very well designed and intricate in the smallest details, the patina is a very lovely chocolate brown patina that is unretouched. In pristine condition, is this Japanese woodblock album displaying 6 famed prints, although these are not originals, yet they are actual wood block prints done for the 1964 Olympics in Japan. Please read the label description on book cover; the woodblocks are 44 years old with no soiling, smudge, or any imperfection whatsoever. They were adapted for stamps, but each are sized image area about 5" by 7" and each come with the original acid free protective tissue paper.

A good sized Imari porcelain bowl. Blue underglaze cobalt and Red, green, aubergine and gold overglaze enamel decoration. Good decorative impact. A "crows foot" crack inside the foot is stable and barely at all visible inside the bowl. Minor enamel losses. Diameter, 10 1/8 in. Height 3 3/4 in.

Stunning Japanese black satin silk obi with a woven pattern featuring shi-shi lions. In very good condition, the back side is solid black. Measures 12" wide by 129" long. Dates Showa Period.

A Japanese Kyo-yaki bowl decorated with acorns and oak leaves in thick gosu blue enamel. The moulded stoneware body is probably from a Seto kiln. Meiji period.

Two nicely matched Edo period mixed metal menuki. Each with decoration of a duck in water. Some difference in the detailing of the water and perhaps different duck species (though one could explain the lack of a crest and color on one because it was the female of a pair of mandarin wood ducks.) For the price, they would work quite well together on a tsuka (sword hilt.) Longer one, about 1 1/2 inches. Good condition.

A Japanese Arita porcelain Kakiemon style dish, circa 1720~1750. The square dish with indented corners, the rim with a deep kuchibeni brown rim, the centre with a gobenka motif. The cavetto is decorated with flowers and grasses amongst rocks. Tiny touches of coloured enamels have been applied to the design, a style first seen in the early 18th century. Within the foot-rim can be found a six-character imitation of a Chinese Ming Chenghua reign mark ‘Daimin Seika Nensei’...

Oval shaped Japanese red lacquer tray of Daruma with his fly whisk. The back side is black. In very good condition, it measures 15.5 inches by 12".

A small cast iron Japanese tetsubin of slightly flared cylindrical form, decorated in relief to one side with maple leaves floating on a stream against a textured ground. The backside is plain save for the textured ground and the foundry mark for Kinshudo. The cover is flat with a pine cone finial and the handle can be moved to either side. In excellent condition, it measures 2.5 inches high excluding the handle, diameter about 3" at widest. Dates late 19th Century.

A fine old ceremonial sake pourer, hisage, hand made from copper and decorated with shochikubai (pine, plum and bamboo), minogame and cranes. Also present are two prominent Tokugawa family crests and on the handle three 16 petalled chrysanthemum crests and another on the rear handle mount. 19th century or earlier. Fine work.

The body of the pourer has probably been raised from one sheet of copper...
