This is a Japanese antique natural Safflower dyeing katazome cotton & shibori kimono of the edo-Meiji era. There is a change of color that oozes out of safflower dyed cotton. but there is no damage. They are not disturbing, and as a whole it is in very good condition. Around the hem and the part of the okumi and the red part of the cuff are muslin. Shibori under the sleeve is cotton. This is shirushi hanten jacket of very rare indigo dye cotton in Edo period.It can be worn. It is shirushi hanten of the buddhist temple in Kyoto. The motif of the back and the chest is very impressive. There is a little stain. There is one pinhole. However, it doesn't stand out. The state is very good in thick cotton. Warm touch of the indigo dye cotton in Edo period is wonderful. I must feel it for the hand...

The size of Kamakura-bori Deep Kashi Bowl: 10 3/4"Dia x 1 3/4" High. About 5/8" Thickness. This is prettiest of Kamakura-bori Kashi Bowl ever seen. The bowl is from Showa 13 th, 1938, 76 years old. It is dated on the back as 1938, April 18th. It has beautiful carved design of Ebisu and Daikoku design with Hoju (treasures). Two are from Shichifukujin (seven lucky Gods.). The both Ebisu and Daikoku faces are finely and deeply carved into the wooden body...

A wonderful Kutani saki bottle, done in the Yoshidaya style. Decorated in brown, green, yellow ochre, and blue enamels with shaped panels of landscape scenes. In excellent condition, no chips, no hairlines, no cracks, it measures 6.75” high x 3”. This is a revival piece done in the Meiji period circa 1890-1900.

Pair of Kinko (soft metal, as distinguished from iron) menuki. The soft metal copper alloy with dark patination (perhaps shakudo) depicting a pair of shishi or dogs (these are more dog like than most shishi I've seen, which are often thought to be lions.) The dogs with hair defined with fine incising. Decoration in gold including spots and pupils on the dogs, the collars each with a bell, and sprays of flowers...

A good, Japanese iroe imari dish of square form with garden landscape decoration in red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold enamel and underglaze blue. The center panel decorated with pines, plantains and maples among rockery and below stylized clouds. The rockery employing "master of the rocks" technique of consecutive contour lines - the stylized clouds echoing the technique. Good condition. 7 to 7 1/8 inches square. A French porcelain octagonal vase and cover after a Kakiemon original by Samson of Paris, 19th century. This is very close to the original as can be seen when compared to a pair of vases on ormolu stands in the Tokyo National Museum.

A Kakiemon style porcelain six lobed dish. Cobalt blue underglaze and red, green, yellow, blue and black outline overglaze enamel decoration of 'three friends of winter' (pine, bamboo and prunus). Assymetry of decoration, as well as palette, typical of Kakiemon type porcelains. But the quality of decoration (though good inside the dish), potting and mark speaks to a more general 'Arita' attribution. Some kiln grit adheres inside the foot rim. 19th century...

A Japanese Arita dish, in Kakiemon style, of rhomboid shape with rounded, spreading sides rising from a circular foot. The inside is decorated round the sides with a continuous 'classic scroll' boldly moulded in relief, and below with a design painted in pale blue, red, green, black and pale yellow enamels.
