Made by Living National Treasure, Fujiwara Yu (1932-2001), this Bizen Hidasuki sake bottle was made about 50 years ago. Yu Fujiwara, one of the most well-known Bizen potters of his time, has become the fourth Bizen Living National Treasure in 1996. There are only five people having such title for Bizen pottery and his father, Kei Fujiwara, became the second Bizen Living National Treasure in 1970. Early 19th C. Japanese Iwami School Netsuke: Sennin This is a finely hand-carved netsuke in Ebony wood of a standing Sennin striking his beard with his right hand. Early 19th Century Japanese Wood Netsuke: ACROBAT

This is a finely hand carved, Early 19th Century Wood Netsuke depicting an Acrobat, who is wearing a fundoshi and sports an Eboshi hat on his head, demonstrating his contortionist skills by placing his left leg over the back of his head.

Japanese woodblock print quadriptych (four panels) by Osaka actor Yoshitaki (1841-1899) dating circa 1860's. Each panel features an actor standing against an embossed, checkered background. Japanese early 20th century bronze art deco bamboo and sparrow vase. Signed by artist, KOMIN. The bamboo and sparrow are done in high relief. Beautifully made with a oxidized "blue" bronze finish. The vase measures 11" tall and 3 3/8" in diameter at the widest.

Japanese Meiji Period bronze USUBATA vase. The vase sits on a tripod base and has the design in silver inlays of a small rocky island with pine trees under the moonlight and with the ocean with waves around it. Stamped KAMETANI on the bottom. The vase measures 11 1/2" tall, 12 3/4" diameter at top and 7 1/2" diameter at base.

A gorgeous Japanese brazier with excellent high quality enamel work, this treasure is contrasted in color from the dark silvered with areas of gold lid and the bronzed tone copper base, making it a visual treat. Dated to the late 19th century this can still used for fragrant dried flowers on a desk top or table. It measures 6.5" diameter x 5.5" high.

An Edo period Oribe sake bottle of simple but full proportions and with classically Japanese Zen decoration - austerely yet sensitively placed grass and blooms decoration in iron oxide on the softly crackled opaque off-white glaze ever so slightly scorched in the kiln on two sides where the body is almost slightly exposed and oxidized to a buff tone at those points. The cut foot also glazed save for a crescent reserve around the center where the warm gray body is exposed...

Japanese Edo period woodblock print depicting a beauty preparing to wash titled "Yellow" from the series "Five Colors of Ink" (Goshikizumi) by Keisai Eisen (1790-1848) published by Aritaya Seiemon between 1843-1846. A JAPANESE EXPORT DISH, LATE 17TH CENTURY.

This fine dish is decorated with designs taken from Ming Chinese Wanli 'Kraak' wares and came about as a result of a disruption of Chinese production during a period of unrest. Dutch traders who found their Chinese trade stopped resorted to ordering from Japanese makers. The Japanese versions of these Kraak style pieces are usually thicker than the very thin Chinese Kraak wares and this has ensured their survival in often pristine condition...

Japanese bronze cast in imitation of a Chinese zun form ritual wine beaker. The archaistic style ritual vessel appears to have been cast in three sections, each of which is divided by vertical openwork flanges into four panels of relief cast and carved decoration.
