Kane gong or bell of a very simple, cylindrical or dish shape, without any sort of decoration. Two loops for cords to hang the gong on a wooden rack. Yellow bronze (sentoku).
Inscription incised in the rim on the back/inside. It mentions the dedication of this gong at the Zenshoji temple in Meiji 40 (1907).

The metal head of the rattle – called shakujo – with some simply engraved decoration on the central shaft indicating lotus petals. The central ring has the shape of an inverted heart, from which six rings loop, three on each side.
The six rings symbolize the Six Realms of Existence where Jizō is active and the Six Perfections that lead to nirvana: generosity, morality, patience, vigor, concentration, and wisdom.

A well-cast bronze figure of a squatting horned demon (oni), dating to the late Edo period. Arms outstretched, as if to grab something (or someone?). Strong, expressive facial features. Measures 4-1/2" in height. Affixed to a custom base, which adds another inch or so, for a total height of just under 6". Traces of pigment.

A small four-fold iron tsuitate, damascened in gold and silver, showing a scene with a minogame turtle and two figures in a landscape. The reverse engraved with a crane among the "three friends of winter". Condition: fine, only minimal wear to gilding, base with little glue residue. Dimension opened: c. 15 x 27.3 cm.

Very unusual Ca. 1930 iron lantern in the shape of a Shinto Shrine Drum with the 'mitsu tomoe' (three commas) which symbolized Raijin the god of thunder and lightning. Antique Japanese ojime (toggle bead) in the form of Bodhi Darma (Daruma), shakudo (an alloy of gold and copper) with a red face , carved with incredible detail, wonderful expression, Meiji Period. Size: 11/16 of an inch high.

Beautiful Japanese small commemorative sake dish. Round shape on footed base and incised. The bottom of each dish is inscribed as the 12th, 13th, and 14th National Weaving Competition. The silver sake dishes were made by Yamazaki Shoten of Ginza. Each has its own tomobako with seal. Age: Taisho Period (1912-1925) Sizes: Small dish: 1" h x 3" diameter, approx. 50 grams. Medium dish: 1.125" h x 3.5" diameter, approx. 62.5 grams. Large dish: 1375" h x 4.125" diameter, approx. 85 grams.

Very rare and exceptional Late Edo/Early Meiji Period C.1880 bronze buddhist temple lantern. Originally held a small dish for an oil lamp. Thick heavy bronze that has oxidized with time to produce a lovely blue/green patina. On tripod legs with fantastic vine motif on the main body panels. Hinges on door still work. Lost wax cast. A fine sterling silver sculpture of a Yatch in full sail featuring gold inlay bands on the sail. Titled "Yacth" by Japanese master artist Seki Takehiko, it is in excellent condition the sculpture measures 5.5" high. The complete presentation including the glass case measures 9" long x 6" deep x 9.5" high.

Small bronze flared muzzle cannon of this type where made for shooting flaming arrows at ships. For launching fireworks at festivals and for signaling purposes. The example of cast bronze with a bore that is described as at the breach and the bore is reduced to a half round section to form a chamber for the powder mount for use.
The gun would be imbedded into a wooded block such as the lower half of the barrel and the entire breach end is covered...
