An old Japanese saki storage bottle in good condition except for some manufacturing flaws which only add to its character and charm. They include firing cracks on the rim, a spot where it touched another bottle in the kiln, and some loss at the base which may have also happened during firing. These type of saki bottles were used as everyday ware by Japanese people and were not made for export. Desired by collectors they also make excellent vases...

This is a beautiful antique porcelain vase from the Fukagawa factory. It is beautifully painted and has extremely fine enamel work. Look close at the cherry blossom images to appreciate this great artistry. The vase stands 9 3/4 inches tall. Condition is excellent and there are no condition issues.

A fine little Hirado figural group depicting two karako playing with a Shishi-mai (lion dance) mask. Sharply modeled with incised details and sparse blue, aubergine and black underglaze decoration. The karako's eyes, the lion mask and the underside unglazed. The biscuit surface of the lion mask intentionally oxidized to an even, light buff tone...

This is a highly detailed Japanese Satsuma vase from the great Meiji artist Shizan. Look close at the images because the fine detail is as good as most of the finer pieces and easily looked over. The vase stands 4 3/4 inches tall. The vase is in excellent condition. Price is firm.

This is really an exquisite piece of Japanese Satsuma. It is signed by Seikozan who was one of the finest satsuma artists. The pot is not overly large being 6 inches tall and 6 1/2 across including the spout/handle. The Condition is fabulous. This is a great piece of Satsuma especially at this price.

This nikuchi, or seal paste box, was created by one of the very few Imperial Court Artists of late Meiji and bears an attractive and subtle design etched on the cover. Seal paste boxes are used to hold the red ink paste used for endorsing official documents and works of art by way of an in-kan (official seal)...

A heavy porcelain jardinere or plant holder very finely painted with flowering peony and other shrubs in shades of underglaze blue and standing on three Chinese Ming Dynasty style Lion head feet. This item was made in Japan during either the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration. 21cm (8.25 inches) high; 31cm (12.25 inches) diameter.

Lovely hand painted Japanese Kutani tea caddy with inner lid. The jar features birds in flight, a slight crackle finish, gold accents, and is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, no repairs. It is signed on the bottom. The tea caddy measures about 5.75 Inches (14.6 cm)tall. Circa 1900.

Antique Japanese Maneki-neko, Meiji 1868-1912. The Maneki-neko is a beckoning cat often seen at the entrance of a shop or other business and thought to be auspicious. Hand formed with Ceramic in good overall condition. It measures 11" wide at base 16" tall.

Antique Japanese beige ceramic crackleware satsuma pilgrim vase, Meiji period 1868-1912. It is beautifully painted with two different scenes. The front and reverse are painted with a wheat plant in a field of chrysanthemums. The sides have cherry blossoms blooming in a stylized wave pattern. The mouth of the vase is square shaped, the base is rectangular. It measures 10" tall, 7.25" widest 2" deep.

A lovely Japanese Kutani porcelain tea caddy with bird and floral motif accented with gold gilt on a pink ground. Measures 4.5 inches high and about 3.75" diameter.

Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) Satsuma earthenware compressed bombe form tripod koro (incense burner) or vessel with wide, inward curling cobalt mouth, decorated with two opposing figural panels, one featuring samurai and the second with women and children of the nobility engaged in leisure activities. The panels are set against a cobalt blue background with dense gilt geometric and floral motifs. 6 1/2” diameter, 4 1/4” high. Late 19th to early 20th century...

Very fine large Meiji Era Japanese porcelain bowl with a delicately painted floral motif accented with gold gilt highlights. The side of the bowl features cranes in various flying poses. There is an old staple and gold repair at the rim. Looking into the bowl it is not visible unless you are seriously looking for it. See last 2 photos. Bowl rings nicely. Signed on the bottom, this is a very large bowl measuring 12.5 inches across by 3.75" high.

Three thin and lovely cups and saucers with underglaze blue reserves of landscapes, birds and couples against an iron-red and gilt background. All parts marked Mikawachi where most Hirado porcelain of the period was made. An extra saucer to go with the rest, without cost. Height of cups "2¼/ 5,8 cm, diameter of saucers "4/ 10 cm. Condition: fine.

Two porcelain plates, both superbly painted in the Satsuma style with brocaded borders and landscape scenes of women and children in luxurious clothing, celebrating iris and chrysanthemum respectively.
