A very interesting set of 5 porcelain bowls with monochrome glaze, marked with maker's mark. China, late Qing or early Republic. H. 6,5 cm, Diameter 11 cm. Condition: small piece of glaze is missing on the inside bottom of the green bowl, the same bowl has a minor glaze imperfection on the outside. The rest of the set is in mint condition.

Wonderful porcelain jar, decorated in blue and white. Typical wanli pattern of swastikas on the shoulder, the rest of the jar decorated with gardens and two flying cranes, China, Wanli (1573-1620). Condition: two hairline cracks on the mouth rim, one of them with an almost invisible related crack on the shoulder. Dimensions: H. 17,5 cm, Diameter 17 cm.

A small enamelled copper box, the cover depicting a grasshopper or cricket amongst grasses and flowers. The base carries a "CHINA" stamp which dates it to post 1890. This item was probably made circa 1900, during the latter years of the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). A soapstone sculpture of the Chinese bearded sage Lao Tzu with staff and scrolls (one partially unfurled from the dragon form staff-head and one tied to his belt.) Engraved cloud decoration on the robe and on the hood over curly locks on the figure's high forehead. Three rather tame looking qilin rest at the figure's feet, looking to the sage - two with a heavenly cloud wisp issuing from their mouths indicating they are not of this world and emphasizing the suggestion of longevity...
