Radiant antique Chinese document box, made of huanghuali hard wood with gorgeous grain, hinged top lid opens to shallow compartment with removable tray, two doors open to reveal 4 small drawers, beautiful details throughout. A very well patinated wood carving, with silver wire inlay, depicting the Daoist Immortal Li Tieguai. This item was made, circa 1750-1850, probably during the reign of either the Jiaqing or Qianlong emperors. Originally, this was the largest of a set of 3 graduated matching silver necklaces. They were worn as a set for festival by the Miao Chinese Ethnic Minority women. The necklace was skillfully hand-formed from a sheet of silver into a curving tapered tube with a reposse pattern of 2 dragons chasing pearl. It spans 10.5 inches across.

H. 23 cm , slight discoloring on the shoulder due to the firing process. Excellent condition.

Antique Chinese pair of lions, made all of gilt copper repouse and cloisonne, the female lion rests her paw on her young lion who is laying on it's back, the male lion has his paw resting on a ball with elaborately draped ribbons symbolizing the world, each lion has a bell hanging from around it's neck, the cloisonne work is extremely ornate with detailed patterns, birds and flowers, beautiful and dramatic, 19th century. Lady's red silk satin garment with front overlap closing to the right, fastened with four knot and loop toggle buttons, slit sides. Embroidered with multicolored scattered scheme of butterflies, double gourds and flowers. Four lobed collar terminating in ruyi heads.
