Gorgeous antique Chinese religious libation cup with Buddhist symbols; double fish, ball of fire, lotus flower, shell, curling chimera. A shou character for good fortune on the bottom of the cup. Made out of bronze with worn gilt and a belt hook of beautifully carved white jade. Age: 18th/19th century. Size: 2" height x 3.75" length.

A rare finely carved cylindrical bamboo incense box depicting Scholars amongst rocks and pine trees in a mountain landscape. This item was made in China in the late Qing period - the characters carved into the top read "Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" which translates as "Made in the Guangxu reign Qing dynasty" (1875-1908). Condition - one 2cm age related crack at the top - otherwise excellent with no damages or losses and no repairs or restoration. 22.7cm (8.8inches) high...

A finely moulded biscuit glazed Wang Binrong style porcelain vase decorated with the eight buddhist emblems and two Qianlong style dragons. The base has a moulded CHINA mark indicating that this item was made post 1891 for export during either the late Guangxu or early Republic period (circa 1895-1920). A large and heavy porcelain vase with thick Sang-de-boeuf ('Ox-blood') glaze. On the base is incised the six character reign mark of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). The first depicting a blue bird on a lychee plant from the "Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting", Jieziyuan huazhuan, published in 1679 by Wang Gai. The second showing a bird on a fruiting branch, from the "Ten Bamboo Studio Manual of Calligraphy and Painting", Shizhuzai shuhua pu, published by Hu Zhengyan in the early 17th century. These painting manuals were very popular and reprinted many times, here 18th century editions...

A small thinly potted wine or tea cup delicately painted in shades of underglaze blue with traditional Chinese landscape scenes. The cup is bound with a metal (copper) rim, apparently made to cover a burst glaze bubble. On the base is a four character shop mark which reads "Shun Li Kun Ji". The makers mark was in use during the late Qing / early Republic period so we assume that this item was made during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration...

A large antique Chinese altar table made from Jumu wood. The front of the altar table contains intricate geometrical patterns, images of birds, flowers, and scrolling vine carvings. Interestingly, the top of the table contains repairs where the restorer created patterns of fish and pineapples to fill in holes on the surface of the table. Age: 19th century.
