The head is carved in a grey stone that I think is limestone, it is harder than marble but it can be scratched with a steel tool. The naive sculpture seems to be made by a craftsman who was not a sculptor or a sculptor of a primitive people. It unquestionably represents a Buddha with his third eye in the middle of his forehead. There is some red pigment left in one nostril and in the corner of the mouth.The appearance of the stone seems very old...

Straits Chinese silver hallmarked adjustable mesh belt with a three-part buckle decorated in low relief with a fish among flowers. The back of the buckle contains two hallmarks with Chinese characters (see enlargement 4). 19th century. High grade silver weighing about 8 oz. Measures 34" long from end to end. A rare Straits Chinese fan case applied with tiny faceted rocaille glass beads on a green respectively yellow velvet ground, depicting auspicious symbols. Bordered with a woven band, with cotton ribbon and lining. Condition: very good, few glass beads are lost. Dimension: case: 32.2 cm long x 7.8 cm wide.

This is an original elaborately handcarved softwood corble of a majestic Chinese Fu-Dog or lion dog guardian. Original joints on its top and side that would have kept it into place. There is so much detail in this piece, from the tendrils of the lions' tail draping above its head. Looking above like the rays of the sun. Delicately hollowed and carved xiù qiú ball underneath its front paws. The detail continues to smaller lionlike creature riding upon its back...

Sung Dynasty Celadon bowl with foliated edge rim and incised floral pattern at center and scrolling design in the cavetto and rim. This is said to be a Guan type brush washer of Southern Sung period, probably from Guan Kiln as the paste is more porous.
