Price on Request Ornemental hairpin from the Li minority of Hainan ; it is made of buffalo bone, and engraved with a character, one arm up, riding a mythical mount (dragoon), and with a fish and numerous geometric designs.
The hollowed parts are filled with black pigment ; ancient glass and porcelain beeds and silk streamers. L : 20c. Hainan island, Li minority, beginning of 20th. C.

Artistic scholar’s rock (gongshi) made of bronze. This relatively rare type of gongshi was made by dripping red-hot molten bronze onto a pile of fresh pine chips. When coagulating the bronze would then “freeze” into its present form. No two pieces are identical, of course.
