A wood water basin was nicely carved in shape of a lotus leaf with a lotus pond. It was preserved in very good condition by nice brownish patina. Some of the seeds in the lotus pond were still movable when some were sticked but nothing is missing. It was a charming and very rare piece by this type. Most of the old wood pieces were made as brush pots in relief carving... From our Chinese Polychrome Collection, a charming and unpretentious Famille Rose teacup and saucer, Qianlong Period (1736-1795), most likely late Qianlong 1760-1785, decorated in a delicate floral pattern in Famille Rose palette, with a Batavian Brown (iron oxide) dressing on the reverse.
Size and Condition: The saucer is 5 inches in diameter, the teacup 2 7/8 inches across, 1 1/2 inches tall. Small inconsequential nick to footrim of teacup essentially perfect.

A beautiful Qingbai porcelaneous set of cup and cupstand was found in original condition. In characteristic greenish tint in the glaze, the ware was revealed with chalk-feel bodyclay underside. The firing effects were yielded on the body clay. They were preserved in perfect condition. Some similar pieces were in the documentations. Date: Song Dynasty.960-1279. Cupstand Width: 13cm. £365.00 The stone has a lustrous patina and has a very dramatic ‘splash’ of red on both sides. It has never been carved with a designation and the base has now a shallow flake as a result of an impact on the edge, with a little powdery material showing. Further along there is a tiny bruise to the edge. These could be taken out by reducing the length by 0.4cm. Personally the chip does not worry me...

£345.00 The design of butterflies and melons is seldom encountered on Chinese porcelain, found only on a few Qianlong pieces. This shaped dish I feel is from the early 19th century but the ‘orange peel’ surface of the porcelain is often found on Qianlong export pieces. Like the Qianlong painted melons these have a pronounced ‘spotting’ in either famille rose or gold enamel on the fruits.

Sold Description: A Dingyao Dish was applied with characteristic creamy white glaze.
In elegantly curved rim, the dish was decorated in the center with carved floral pattern. It was preserved in perfect condition except some burial stains were left on the surface. Date: Northern Song Dynasty AD960-1127 Width :12cm. A Custom-made cotton box is included.
