A wondreful Chinese wood panel with three goats, an auspicious symbol of peace, harmony and good fortune. The panel was painted with red lacquer and then gold gilt was applied. As a decorative piece it would look great over hung over a doorway or above a large painting. In very good condition, it measures just short of 24 inches long by 7 3/4" high.

A large intricately carved and pierced Chinese soapstone censer. This censer features 3 large foo dogs: two foo dogs at the top of the body with a foo dog removable finial or lid. Three small foo dogs frolic under the 2 larger dogs. The base is a very dark brown, hand carved and not removable. In excellent condition, the censer, as pictured in photo 1, measures 11 inches x 11" x 2.25".

A Chinese sacrificial-red (ji hong) glazed stem bowl. There is a six-character Da Qing Dao Guang Nian Zhi mark inside the bottom of the stem foot, but it was probably made in 20th Century. There are heavy scratches inside the bowl, no other flaw beside this. Diameter: 7"; height: 4".

Chinese hanging scroll ink rubbing of an ancient stone carving featuring Quan Yin. Rubbing dates early 2oth century. Rubbings of ancient stone carvings are illegal in China as the process damages the stone. In very good condition, the rubbing measures 39.5 inches x 21 inches. Scroll measures 30" x 56" and comes in a bamboo container.

A large pair of Chinese ceramic fu dogs with a Sancai ware "three colors" palette in green, brown, and blue with natural clay white in a transparent crackle glaze. The large pair of fu dogs stand opposite each other, eyes faced forward, their mouths slightly open in a snarling grin. The front right foot of the male fu dog rests upon a rounded "xi qui" floral ball, representing rule and supremacy over the world...

DESCRIPTION: A beautiful octagonal pill (or snuff) box, the top with silver filigree wire work around inset coal stones forming the shape of a five-petal flower. The box itself is silver over copper and on the inside is stamped “Made in China.” Amazingly, the original Frost Bros. retail tag remains on the inside. This beautiful and well hollowed black hair crystal snuff bottle is a mid-20th century product. It is 2 1/2" high,1 3/8" wide and 5/8" thick with a red carnelian cap. Aside from a small chip on the top rim, it is in very good condition.

Chinese repousse silver perfumer shaped like a melon. It is divided into 6 sections with tiny flowers on a vine in each section. Clasp in back. Bottom has maker's cartouche.

A Chinese jade pendant of triangular shape, with pierced and carved decoration showing a bird among foliage. It is finely and delicately executed, the stone is of pale celadon color and the cord of finely pleated silk. The tassels carry colored beads. A Chinese banded amethyst sculpture, shaped as an egg and carved with the head of an Immortal with large pendant ears . The carving is beautifully rendered and the unusual form makes it original and desirable. In very good condition, it measures 2 3/4 inches (7.25 cm ) long and dates from the Republican period.

Rare jacket back panel from the remote Miao Jiupang group from Jiahe County, Guizhou province (see last enlargement), with purple embroidered pattern between the spaces in the tin decoration. This style of decoration is unique to this group and very difficult to make, as every tiny bit of tin has to be individually cut and crimped. Recently acquired from a private Hong Kong collector, these are the first examples I have send of these I have seen in the past 15 years...
