Delicate and rare Chinese Porcelain Polychrome Cachepot Planter with matching Base Saucer. Both have 4 Character Tao Kuang Period Markings (1822-1850). Planter has 2 holes for drainage. This rare piece, exquisitely suited for an orchid in bloom or special small plant comes with it's own fine and original hand carved rosewood stand as illustrated. Description:

A boxwood root was intriguingly carved and hollowed into a charming brush pot.
Being penetrated as wall of holes for light going through, the scholar item was most favoured by literati for the natural mood.
It was reserved in very good condition by enduring old patina.
The under cover was an old restoration.

A metal alloyed Monk figure was heavily cast.
By well carved flouring lines on the robe, the deity was in serene mood in meditation posture.
It was preserved in very good condition with darken patina, rust surface.

A very fine Nanking export blue and white porcelain tea cup and perfectly matching saucer depicting lovely Chinese landscape with a pavillion, mountains, trees, birds and 3 people. Circa 1800. Condition: tea bowl excellent, the saucer has 2 miniscule, inconsequential rim chips.

Chinese Export Porcelain Platter made for American Market, circa 1800, 14 1/2" x 11 3/4" wide, 1 1/4" high, dark orange color rim and floral decoration in the center are all done overglaze enamel and highlighted in brilliant gold. Some gold finish rubbed off around the rim and small floral decorated area in the center. No damage or restoration.

Chinese Export Rose Mandarin low relief and open design Porcelain Brush Pot, 4 1/2" high, 2 1/2" diameter, Ca. 1830, with molded and low relief design of Chinese Scholars in the garden scene, raised design in overglaze enamel decoration. Glaze star crack on the bottom and two(2) stains on unglazed bottom rim. Some kiln bubbles popped on the gilded top rim which is somewhat worn from the usage.

A beautiful and well made scholar's screen made of blackwood and having the original marble insert. Most of the marble in early pieces have been replaced. The frame for the marble has a key fret design. The base has carvings of two peaches, representing longevity, and the peony for prosperity. Age: Early 19th century. Size: H. 64cm. W. 43.5cm. Condition: No repairs, all original, age crack on the marble, common for it's age.

A late 18th or early 19th Century Famille Rose enamelled jar made in China, probably for export, during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor. For comparison (of enamels) we have pictured two export Lion Joss Stick Holders (usually dated either late Qianlong or Jiaqing, circa 1800) in our last enlargement. DESCRIPTION: A very handsome antique Chinese Yu mu (Northern Chinese Elm) bed with carved center apron and stout, inward turning horse-hoof feet. The rectangular top of this bed is inset with rattan, supported by strong woven webbing underneath. Yu mu, or Northern Elm, has an elaborate and beautiful wave-like grain and is favored for Northern Chinese furniture.
