The lid is inscribed in Chinese with marks by the artist, and the inside bottom piece shows a large river flowing into open waters. Interesting sprue mark pattern on bottom. Wonderful shape, vivid colors with beautiful artistry. Unfortunately, there are several chips at the base and this piece is therefore priced accordingly. Cork stopper, no lid. Height 2.75 inches, width 1.5 inches.

Porcelain Chinese figurine of Tsao Kuo Chiu, who is a patron saint of theatrical profession. Richly decorated in polychrome enamels, Tsao Kuo Chiu is one of the 8 Immortals. We have never seen a theatrical monkey at the base, but he is a nice addition to this very unique 19th century Chinese figurine. Marked CHINA on the bottom, we are dating him Circa 1900. In excellent condition, he measures 7.5 inches tall.

The robe is overall in very good condition, clean, very light stains in sleeves and minor tear in the right armpit.
