Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: W. 18.5 x 11.6cm. H. 5.8cm.

$285.00 A finely detailed Chinese porcelain rooster in a rich blue turquoise glaze with his comb and wattle, as well as the rock form base, glazed in a deep aubergine. In excellent condition, it measures 10.25" high, 7" long.
Please note: Any brown or white spots in photos are reflections, especially in the 2nd photograph where it looks brown at the base of the rooster's comb. It is not brown, it is purple. The reflection is coming from a brown bench behind the photographer. Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Attendant Figure
This pottery model of a male attendant, or servant, was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). The figure stands with hands clasped together under a wide-sleeved robe. Note the presence of purpose-made holes above and below where the hands would be where a flag or banner (?) would originally have been placed diagonally, and presumably made of wood so long since rotted away and lost... Chinese Qing dynasty Guangxu period lidded teapot decorated on both sides in underglaze blue with two figures from the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" engaged in an outdoor sword battle. The lid is decorated with a central flower. Two Metal handles connect to porcelain supports at the shoulder. The interior and base are glazed. There are three strain holes at the interior of the spout. Measures about 8 1/2” diameter x 6 5/8” high. Late 19th to early 20th century...
