$1,500.00 Antique Chinese bitong (brush pot) carved of hardwood with beautiful grain patterns. The mouth and foot of the container have a fine cusped edge. The bottom is carved with three low feet. The bitong has a pleasing overall shape with a slight flare towards the top.

Featuring rounded walls, rising to a slightly everted rim and is supported by a long waisted foot. It is covered overall in a green celadon glaze, except for the foot-ring.
Measurements: height (4"inches), diameter (4.8"inches) across.
Condition: perfect condition. No repairs...

This exceptional "five-section" stoneware jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 -1279). It is quite "heavily-potted" with the outer body and inner mouth coated in an attractive dark iron glaze, the colour varying from brown to black with an almost "metallic" silvery sheen to it in places... This fine pottery model of a camel, laden with saddle bags, was made during the early Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906) or possibly a little earlier. It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a white pigment. The camel stands upright and alert with its mouth open and its head turned to its left. On its back is a set of saddle bags that include a blanket, ducks and what appears to be a rabbit...

A Chinese archaic pale green jade sword chape carved on one side with four linear designs, the reverse with a coiled dragon, 5cms wide, Western Han dynasty (202BC - 9AD).
A similar chape was sold at Bonhams London, 18/5/23, lot 28, Keverne collection.
Another sold at Christie's New York, 17/3/16, lot 920.

Jar carved with vertical petal-like ribs and is topped with a round cover that has undulating edges and a ribbed petal-like dome. It is covered overall in a green celadon glaze, except for the base.
Measurements: height (3.5”inches or 9cm), width (3.9”inches or 10cm).
Condition: in perfect condition. No restorations. UV light checked...

The upper body, and inner mouth, are coated with an attractive olive-green glaze that is very finely-crackled. The unglazed neck and lower body have fired to varying shades of reddish-brown. To the upper and lower neck are bands of impressed wavy lines...
