Measurements : Approx 7 in x 42 overall, 3-1/8" x 18-1/2" Embroidered area. The ground fabric of this man's garment is a light, greyish silk damask with stylized endless knot pattern. The front overlap closing is fastened with five pierced gilt metal ball buttons. Trimmed with black silk and a woven border, the straight sleeves with light blue cuffs showing the same pattern like the ground fabric...

Sold A Chinese paired apron wraparound silk gored skirt, woven in tapestry (kesi, kossu, k'o-suu) technique with some silver wrapped threads and painted details, attached to an undyed cotton waistband and trimmed by a brocaded band. The panels are showing an imperial imagery of the celestial landscape with five-clawed dragons and phoenixes, against a green ground. The "long" dragons were probably covered by peacock feathers, rarely survived to the present days...
Up for sale is a rare antique Chinese dragon roundel rank badge taken from an imperial family member's dragon robe for wedding or festive occasion, most likely the empress's. 19th century Qing dynasty embroidered with a 5-claw dragon, clouds, bats, seawaves, buddhist auspicious symbols against a red silk satin ground; very intricate embroideries and in excellent condition ! Diameter = 20" ( 51cm )
During the Qing Dynasty, Chinese court gentlemen and ladies used elaborate hair styles.
To assist in these construction of the "hairdo's", they used a wire form was covered with a mesh fabric.
This particular "cap" was used to cover a bun of hair on the center of the head. The silver flat "hairpin" was used to hold the cap in place by pushing it through one side hole, between the hair bun and the scalp and through the other side hole.
The inside of the cape clearly shows its age and use.

Sold A rare pair Chinese chair strips with the typical four register design, showing bamboo, lingzhi fungus and scholar rocks. The ground fabric is a steel blue silk with black silk embroidery in satin stitch and little Peking knot. Trimmed with gold-wrapped thread border, cotton lining. Condition: good used condition - no restauration, particularly one cover with more traces of usage...
A pair of silk applique roundels for a robe, lavishly embroidered in satin stitch, tiny Peking knot and couched gold wrapped thread. One showing two boys at play, the other one depicting the immortal He Xiangu with attendant in a boat amidst flowers and auspicious symbols. Condition: slightly stained, the one with the boys has traces of former humidity, especially from behind. Dimension: 23.5 cm diameter.

$350.00 Near perfect pair of fuschia colored silk Chinese lotus shoes for bound feet. Each shoe is embroidered with delicate gold couching and a silk satin stitched butterfly. In excellent condition they have been packed and stored in a box for the past century. Color is vibrant having not been exposed to sunlight.
Chinese late Qing dynasty (19th century) front-opening Han style lady's jacket embroidered on the front and back in silk polychrome thread with clusters of flowering plants and butterflies on a dark cobalt blue silk satin ground. Much of the embroidery is executed with the “forbidden stitch.” The sleeve bands are similarly embroidered with flowers and Buddhist swastikas on a white silk ground. Three round floral metal buttons secure the front opening and silk closures secure the neck...
