A wood Bodhisattva was nicely carved and was well preserved in very good condition. In metal-sheen-like patina, the wooden deity was depicted in serene mood by well carved features. A portion of the base was missing, an old defect. Date: Early Ming periods, 14th/15th century. Height: 23.5cm. A SILK BOX IS INCLUDED.

$975 A good Chinese boxwood carving of Budai. Three children clamor over him. A bat appears on his right hand. Bone and horn inlays detail his eyes and teeth. Rich, mellow old patina. Nice grain figure in places. Late Qing to early Republic. Ca 1900. Very good condition with typical minor distress checks in the old hardwood surface. Remnants of old label. Height, about 4 5/8 inches high.

solded Buddha in bronze cast with lost wax and gilded with mercury. The walls are very thick, the statuette is heavy. The gilding is original, certainly baked several times to obtain a nice thickness. The reverse of the dress is chiseled with stylized flowers. The base is closed by an incised copper plate of Vajra. The base does not appear to have been opened. The two arm bracelets were originally to have stone beads, today replaced by a colored coating...
