Even though excavated with imperfections, the lion was still momentum by his strenuous muscle, the strong limbs and the flouring manes. Bing preserved with original condition from excavation, the lion was perfectly fit to a custom-made brass base which was desighed and hammered by a modern metal artist...

The finely and realistically modelled sculptures depict a Chinese man and a Chinese woman in national costumes. The man is wearing a long green robe with gold swirl motifs, grey Balloon Pants and red shoes on his feet, the hair is braided and drawn back under a black hat. His left hand is grasping a Chinese musical stringed instrument (Erhu)...

SOLD Antique Chinese pair of stone temple fu dogs. These fierce guardians would have been placed on either side of the entrance to a Buddhist temple in order to ward off evil spirits. One statue has its mouth open and the other mouth is closed, a symbolic trait to represent the in-and-out breathing of life and the sound of “om.” Heavy in weight.
Late Qing, early 20th century Dimensions: 8" x 19" x 19" H each overall (base measures 12" x 6 1/2") Head of Buddha, eyelids lowered, with a meditative expression, with a small usnisa above forehead. Wood, with multiple layers of lacquering and gilding. China, Qing Dynasty, 18th century, maybe earlier. Height: 32.5 cm. Some chips, otherwise very good condition.

SOLD An authentic marble stele fragment depicting an Apsara, measuring 4-3/4" in height by 3-1/2" in width. The carving is very well done and the details are crisp. The surface retains its original patina. A very fine example, mounted on a custom stand (the base of the sculpture has been drilled with a hole to accommodate the shaft).
