A portion of the base was missing, an old defect. Date: Early Ming periods, 14th/15th century. Height: 23.5cm. A SILK BOX IS INCLUDED. Wonderful early sculpture, depicting a Chinese saint or deity. The panel may have been placed under the corner eaves of the roof above the pillars. The Amitayus ( Bodhisattva of Longevity ) is seated on double-lotus throne in dhyanasana and with both hands in dhyanamudra. The statue is 17,1 inches high and 7,5kg heavy!
