Description:

A boxwood root was intriguingly carved and hollowed into a charming brush pot.
Being penetrated as wall of holes for light going through, the scholar item was most favoured by literati for the natural mood.
It was reserved in very good condition by enduring old patina.
The under cover was an old restoration.

Description: A bronze censer with stylized loops was in hefty weight and molded with very fine quality. In a fantastic darkish-red patina(which was very much favored by Chinese connoisseurs who used to describe the color as Red of Ripe Dates), The stooped censer stands by its bulge tripod feet in an elegant way...

Description:

A bronze water basin was inscribed with poems and carved with beautiful scenery on the surface.
The inscriber was Pu Ton, A sibling of the last emperor of Qing Dynasty Pu Yi.
Pu Ton was also a famous scholar of late Qing to early Republic periods.
This bronze piece was cast in thin wall but was kept in very good condition with darken patina on the surface.

Date: 1924, by the Chinese lunar date JiaZi inscribed before the poem...

Description:

An ivory plaque was kept in perfect condition.
Being preserved in enduring old condition-the darken patina and the naturally yielded crackles all over the surface, the plaque was used to be a pendant.
By rare and good quality, it was kept in plain form which was responding to a Chinese proverb-- Niang Tsa Bu Zhuo, A High-Ranking Material Is So Precious That Should Be Saved from Carving...

A Chinese bronze censer with stylized fish handles. The recessed base with a cast apocryphal Ming Xuande reign mark. 18th century.

An almost identical censer was auctioned at Christie’s “Interiors”, London, South Kensington, lot 795. 9th November, 2011. Results available on the Christie’s website.

A wonderful calligraphy with good meaning was kept in good condition.

Description: An old ivory plaque was decorated with archaic scrolling Chilong(DRAGON) pattern in against position on both sides.On the rims, fret pattern was regularly carved. The motifs of this rare piece had long been used in traditional Chinese works of art. It was an abstract art and a decent motif which had always been adopted by the noble echelon. Date: Qing dynasty (18th Century) Length: 6.0cm Width: 3.9cm Depth: 0.6cm

An old soapstone seal was in very good mood of scholar taste.

Two lions were vibrantly rendered on the top of the seal as a knob.

While well maneuvered inscriptions were on four side of the stamp.

For Chinese literati, the scholar taste was most treasured, by the meaning of the inscriptions and by the craftsmanship of the carving on the inscription.The seal obtained all these characteristics.

And the tint of this stone was in great mood too...

Description:

A sitting bronze figure was nicely cast.
Being depicted as a scholar with flouring robe and a official hat, the figure was in casual mood by resting his arm to the stool beside him.
It was perfectly preserved with nice darken patina.

A Ming Inkstone was in simple rectangular form and was in decent look.
In characteristic Ming scholar mood, the inkstone was made from the unique Pudding stone.

It was hand-carved and shaped in bridge-type.
Well preserved in perfect condition, this Inkstone owned the original mood of scholarship.

A soapstone sculpture of the Chinese bearded sage Lao Tzu with staff and scrolls (one partially unfurled from the dragon form staff-head and one tied to his belt.) Engraved cloud decoration on the robe and on the hood over curly locks on the figure's high forehead. Three rather tame looking qilin rest at the figure's feet, looking to the sage - two with a heavenly cloud wisp issuing from their mouths indicating they are not of this world and emphasizing the suggestion of longevity...

An elegant and fine ink-stone (Shezhou, Anhui) made of carved, dark schist with minor, green-brown inclusions. One “eye.” Two small feet at top end. Fitted and finely carved lid of chicken wing wood (jichimu). The inscription reads: “A treasure from the Zhishi shanfang.” In a Japanese box from the 19th century (with full inscription). China: Qing, probably 18th cent. L 16,5 cm, W 11 cm. Condition: Excellent (small chip in ink-well).

Description:
A Huali wood covered box was preserved in a very good condition.
By sound structure and well track-moved lid, the wood box was yielded with charming brownish patina on the surface inside and out.
Darken hue was accumulated in portions due to enduring age.
In quite good size, it was used as a storage box for scholar’s utensils.

A thick-walled censer, shaped like an urn with “Heaven soaring” handles, standing on a three legged base. Both censer and base have been polished in the past but are now achieving a decent patina. The censer fits the base perfectly. The base has an interesting mark. 19th century.
