A large Chinese Canton enamel bowl finely painted with flowers and peaches on a ruby-red ground. The interior with turquoise, the base with white enamel. Condition: footrim with three small enamel losses, few hairlines. Good - regarding the age and delicacy of the material. Please consult the photos, they make part of the condition report. The collar and shoulder are decorated with the highly stylized bat or ruyi cloud pattern, as well as the surrounding portion of the handle knob, along with floral and tendril foliage. Good condition, with a few tiny nicks, but hardly worth mentioning, save for accuracy sake. Original patina and antique charm well preserved, size 18 cm diameter or 7" and 6 cm or 2.5" high...

The vase is decorated with two central white ground bird and flower motifs set against a black background densely covered in bright polychrome enamel flowers and scrolling foliage. The top and bottom borders are done in a royal blue cobalt contrasted by a turquoise backdrop entwined with golden wire. This wonderful item is dated to the late 19th century and stands 4 inches tall.
