A pair of Chinese famille rose bowls, decorated with gourd and butterfly motifs on green grounds. Gourds and butterflies together have an auspicious hidden meaning of "Guadie Mianmian (瓜瓞绵绵)” - may there be ceaseless generations of sons and grandsons. There are six character "Daqing jiaqing nianzhi" marks inside the foot rims, and of the period. Condition: nearly perfect condition,the only flaw is one tiny chip on the rim. A large Chinese ceramic vase of a classic green tea dust glaze, with rich glaze "drips" along the inner rim and just above the foot, which is left bare along its edges and its recessed center glazed in tea dust. The vase has an angular form with concave neck and foot, with different sets of characters on its front and back in relief.

A moulded porcelain chrysanthemum shaped bowl decorated on the outside in blue and white enamels with stylized scrolling lotus flowers and bats 'Fu' (good luck). Incorporated within this pattern are three overglaze red and gold 'Shou' (long life) characters. The base carries the iron red reign mark of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850). This item was made in China, in the mid 19th Century, for export to the Malaysian "Straits" Chinese community...
