A wonderful, larger Chinese pottery figure of a female attendant. The figure dates to Ming Dynasty 1368-1644 AD.

An lady dressed in a robe glazed in Green and Yellow Sancai colors. She is placed on plint and carries a vase in front of her chest.

She carries a hat and her hair is nicely styled. Facial details were made with fragile pigment colors of which some remains.

Height: 31-32 cm - c. 12,5 inches. A massive figure in hand, weighing 1,6-1,7 kg...

Rare Chinese Five Dynasties / Early Song Dynasty Incised Jar / Water Pot

This round stoneware jar was made in the 10th Century, either during the Five Dynasties period (AD 906 - 960) or during the early part of the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). The wall is decorated with an incised repeating petal design. It is coated in a pale greenish glaze that is very finely-crackled and that falls of short of the base revealing the pale grey body.

This attractive and quite rare three-footed censer was made during the 14th / 15th century most likely at the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province. The wide body stands on three short integral feet. Incised bands encircle the mouth and base. It is coated in a finely-crackled celadon glaze of good colour save for areas on the inner surface and base where the unglazed pale brown porcelaneous body is revealed.

This interesting pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province. It is made from a fairly high-fired pale grey pottery, the yellowish-brown surface colour being due to the iron-rich Yunnan soil.

Tall Chinese Song dynasty brown glazed tapering form horizontal ribbed vase. The glaze was poured into the interior while the top shoulder of the jar was left unglazed. 14” high. Circa 13th century. The unglazed base has significant grit adhering from the kiln which causes the vase to be slightly slanted and a bit unstable. There are small chips along the rolled mouth.
