Large, rectangular brush pot made from a dark bamboo wood. Each of its four sides has a large panel, carved skilfully with beautiful scenery. Three Chinese late Qing dynasty to Republic period robin's egg (called lu Jun, or "furnace Jun") glazed porcelain scholar's desk articles including a hexagonal form water pot with an applied qilong climbing on the side (about 3" diameter by 2 1/8" high), a ribbon bound triple-gourd vase with three openings (4 1/2" high), and a rectangular brush holder in the form of a stove (2 3/8"L x 1 3/4"D x 1 3/4"H). Fine and rare old Yao/Mien all hand spun and woven cotton wedding veil with silk thread embroidered geometrical design, circa 50 years old. This piece is from Kim Mien group and was originally collected in Northern Laos. The colors on this piece are subtle and restrained (please note the use of shades of brown and blue in enlargements) and the brown and white tassels. Except for a couple of tiny holes this piece is in excellent condition. W: 47cm/18.5in and L: 75cm/29.5in.

This is a beautiful and unique Japanese Cloisonne box.The artist could have be one of at several but it looks like a piece from Inaba,Honda or Shibata. The box is about 50% larger than most boxes and has the same form as a Hayashi box I once had. The silk lining with the mums is exquisite. The box measures 6 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 2 5/8 tall. The condition is excellent.

A 19th century celadon vase of robust globular shape, with a waisted neck to imitate the look of revolving vases. Against the molded celadon ground are enameled famille rose flower sprays, with a Prunus branch curious enameled to the base. Producing this vase would have required two separate firings.

Grey stoneware, covered with a white glaze, painted with a dragon in black/brown. Diameter 11,5 cm. Jin Dynasty (1115-1234). Condition: firing crack in the body (back side). Otherwise very good. With expected age wear.

Made of silk. Two panels with very fine embroidery of a dragon and a phoenix, with lots of gold thread. The other panels with simple flower patterns. Some of them with gilt brass bells at the bottom.
