A very lovely natural green Burmese jadite necklace, all stones were selected to match, none were dyed. The clasp is marked 'silver' and by the art deco design of it we date the piece to the 1920 - 1930's. The necklace measures 24" and consists of three strands. This is a nice weighty but very comfortable necklace, highly stylish and elegant, a real crowd pleaser.

A strong form has been carved from this block of rough shigaraki clay, a seven sided vessel absent of glaze yet filled with the vibrant colors and textures of the kiln. It is an early work by Shigaraki star Kohyama Yasuhisa amd comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It measures 7 inches (18 cm) tall, 4-1/2 inches (11.5 cm) across and is in fine condition.

Virabhadra, incarnation of Shiva, is often depicted in solid bronze plaques. This one however is remarkably fine, with its delicate openwork. It dates from the 16th century, possibly earlier and was made in West India. It has a warm brown patina and appropriate age wear. There is a very old repair just above the small figure on the left.
