Antique Japanese choba-ko tansu (small merchant's chest), made of natural Kiri (paulownia) hardwood (original finish). The chest holds a large open compartment with a single shelf behind two large doors, lined with 7 outer drawers. Each drawer opens by a squared, black iron handle. The smallest bottom-left drawer acts as a money collection box, with a coin slot right above it.

Unusual Antique Japanese maki-e lacquer Jingasa (Samurai helmet) decorated in low relief lacquer work of a fierce looking red Oni with piercing gold eyes and teeth . A gilt lacquer mon, or family crest is seen below the Oni representing daffodils. The underside of the helmet is smooth, shiny black lacquer.

A set of Nesting Shino Sake Cups with Dice. They are stamped on the base, and come in three sizes, the accompanying dice imprinted with the various sizes on each side, so a roll of the dice decides your fate in the drinking game. Very unusual and in excellent condition, they are (stacked) 2 x 2 x 1-1/4 inches (5 x 5 x 3 cm).

Beautiful Rare and Unusual Tibetan cabinet with wonderful painted front panels of various beasts roaming grassy plains, some with piles of fruit around them, each panel has a red border with green swirl designs. An unusual Arita blue & white porcelain plate, circa 1700 - 1750. A smaller dish with similar moulded and gadrooned edge and border of spiky foliage is in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. An unusual Bizen stoneware figural group depicting three sages with attributes in clouds in a stele formation. One with wheat and sword flanked by attendants, one also with wheat and sword and the other with a palm frond or banana leaf fan. A fine and unusual brush rest in the shape of a dragon-fish or some similar mythological animal. Carved of what appears to be boxwood with a dark-reddish lacquer coating. On the bottom side an illegible signature in raised relief consisting of two Chinese characters. Qing, probably second half of 18th cent. L 15 cm. Condition: Fine all-over, but with wear due to age & handling.

A rare and very unusual underglaze blue decorated Gu shaped Altar Vase with fine crackular glaze. This item was made in Southern China, probably during the second half of the Qing dynasty.
