A framed calligraphy fan painting by important Edo period poet Kawano Tetsuto (1825-1867), published in the book Shijin Kano Tetsuto (1932). The ancient paper fan is mounted in a field of gold flake bordered with black lacquered wood, the frame measuring 11-1/2 by 23-1/2 inches (29 x 59.5 cm). A six panel gold screen decorated in a style harkening to the first half of the Edo featuring angular trees interspersed with blossoming cherries, a torrent splashing angrily through the right quarter topped with moriage gold clouds. Many repairs and losses to the heavy pigments attest to the great age of the painting. Excellent size for wall mounting, it is 62 x 138 inches (157.5 x 350 cm). The border is from a later mounting. Due to size the cost of shipping is to be accrued separately.

This is Kake-Fukusa used for Edo period. This is very superior in dyeing by Tsutsugaki and is luxurious. This is superior in processing in detail. As for this, Tsutsugaki and a luxurious combination of the embroidery are very impressive. A comparetivly large sized Japanese Kannon Bosatsu from the Edo Period - about 250 years old - used in Sōfuku-ji ( 崇福寺 ) Temple in Gifu and since 80 years in our collection.

It is made of premium wood and has been carved by a master craftsman. The golden colour is still vivid and shiny and looks absolutely amazing. Buddha Statues of this quality are very rare.

Here we present a tasteful kuro (black) Oribe kutsu chawan from the mid Edo period.

It has an interesting shape with fantastic black glaze and two different images on it. This bowl is unmarked, which was typical for tea bowls of this era.

We offer this tea bowl with a very good box (kiribako).

No cracks or repairs - except inborn kiln cracks. Good antique condition with some traces of use due to the age.
