Antique Chinese pair of large joss stick incense holders. Made of porcelain in bell form. Decorated with painted designs of dragons, lingzhi and scrolling vines in red-orange overglaze standing out against a dramatic black ground. Each joss holder has four large dragon medallions, two on the top portion and two on the bottom. Around them is painted a variety of scrolling foliage. The interior rim of the upper portion is painted with a pattern of lingzhi mushrooms.

Sculpture of the Bodhisattva Jizo, standing with a jewel in his left hand. His right hand points down to the earth in a welcoming gesture. The sculpture was built according to the yoseki saigu technique of separate blocks. Originally a layer of gesso covered the wood, over which black lacquer. The lacquer and gesso have come off from most of the sculpture, revealing finely written sutras or Buddhist texts in black ink all over the body of the figure.

An antique Japanese bronze temple bell known as a Bonsho with a carrying handle depicting diverging dragon heads called Ryuzu. The upper protrusions called chi chi or nye improves the resonance of sound. There are two opposing striking panels called Tsuki-za upon which the bell should be struck for the best and longest sound. Tall, ovoid shaped vase with broad rounded shoulder and a very short neck, decorated with an abundance of frolicking karashishi (Chinese lions) between blue and pink peonies.
