Attractive Shan State Buddha seated in the Lotus Position on a stepped throne decorated with 2 layers of fine lotus-like leaves in high relief. Very fine bronze Shan State Buddha with an exquisite black-gold patina seated on a stepped throne decorated with knobs. The sculpture displays an elegant smartness and is well proportioned. The Buddha is seated in the Vajrasana position with the right hand in the gesture of touching the earth (bhumisparsa mudra) and the left hand rests in the gesture of meditation (dhyana mudra). Excellent condition, 18/19th Century. Size: H. 26 cm. x W. 13.5 cm. x D. 8 cm.

Vairochana's mudra is the dharmachakra mudra. It is the gesture of teaching which is divided of turning the wheel of the law. (There are many variation of this mudras) One form, Tibetan use is to hold both hands at the level of the heart. The right palm face faces outward and the left palm faces inward. One circle is forming by the thumb and index finger of the right hand and the second circle is formed by the thumb and the index finger of the left hand...

Attractive small 19th Century Thai Rattanakosin Buddha seated in deep meditation (Virasana) on a stepped throne. The Unisa or flame above the head symbolizes attainment of Nirvana or is indicative of supreme knowledge. Very good condition. Size: H. 2.5" x W. 1.5" x D. 1"

A rare ca. 12th Century S-E Asian Bronze Bell from the Estate of Johan and Randi Daehlfeldt, Denmark. This bell is still sonorous and has a nice relief design on top. Beautiful naturally aged patina and comes with an attractive custom made stand. Some inconsequential wear due to considerable age. Size: H. 7 cm. including top loop x 4.5 cm. without the stand.

Interesting Bronze Buddha seated on lotus throne with wheel of dharma and two male stag deer in attendance below him. The two male deer are Nigrodha and Sakha, part of a specially poignant Jataka Tale helpful with the teaching of the first sermon at the Deer Park in Sarnath. Helpful with the teaching of the eightfold path to escape and end suffering.
