most likely survived the destruction of this ancient Thai capital by the Burmese in 1767, with some parts of the bronze statue partially melted (see photographs). Strong aura/presence. A very rare item, size excluding base: H. 25 cm. x W. 19 cm. x D. 11 cm. (9.75" x 7.5" x 4.25"), heavy.

Price on Request Antique Nepalese Bronze Bodhisatva seated on lotus throne. Depicted lovely and delicate detailing with five pointed crown headdress with small head on deer on left shoulder. Hands raised in prayer, hand holding lotus and other had holding rope. Unusual imagery on back of lotus throne of conch shell and running deer. Detachable base from figure.
Provenance McIntyre Collection 19th century H 12 1/4" x W 9 1/4" x D 7" In bhumisparsa mudra. Quite rare because of the openwork stand with elephants. 16th century or possibly earlier. H. 20,5 cm. Minor damage to the stand and to the ushnisha. Lovely agewear and patina. Rare item. From a Dutch private collection.
