Very Large Antique Wooden Joseon Dynasty Korean Wedding Goose inscribed with the year 1892. A similar but slightly smaller one recently sold at auction in Korea for $22,520 plus commission, for a total of $25,000! A photo of that auction result is the last photo here in this post. This is a grand piece of Korean folk art. This wooden goose was a gift from a Korean groom to a bride nearly 200 years ago, and is the largest and most beautifully rendered example we have ever seen...

Large Artist's Proof of Munjado Calligraphy by the Famous Kim Ki Chang aka Unbo (1913 - 2001). Despite being deaf, Unbo was one of Korea's most beloved 20th Century artists. His works are now sought by museums and collectors internationally. This is the original signed AP (Artist's Proof) of this large lithograph, where Unbo gives us a most creative rendering with anthropomorphic figures in the ancient style of figurative munjado calligraphy. 38.5 x 28.5 inches, 98 x 72.5 cm.

Coin chests are highly prized by collectors, as their purpose required that they be the largest, heaviest, and most well constructed piece of furniture in the home of an aristocrat. Paper money did not exist in Yi Dynasty Korea, and the coins were of very small denominations. They had to be strung together in large quantities to have any worth, so a strong money box was obviously a necessity...

A large, heavy, Korean brass candle holder, consisting of six parts: (1)a base pan on which screws the (2)candle stick, (3)a small pan to contain the wax, (4)a bracket to hold the light reflector, (5)a fan shaped light reflector which is secured by bat shaped brackets on both sides, and (6)a candle snuffer. This candle stick dates to the turn of the Century, Yi Dynasty, and measures overall 32 3/4" high. The base pan measures 10 3/4" in Diameter x 2 1/2" high. The condition is excellent.

A large heavy Korean brass bowl or tray that was used to carry smaller bowls of rice and vegetables to men working in the fields. The bowl was wrought to shape, and it shows the evidence of being hand pounded. The Bowl measures about 3 1/2" high x 13 1/2" in diameter, weighs about 3 1/2 pounds, and dates to the early 20th Century. The condition is very good with only minor surface tarnish and corrosion. It was the custom in Korea to polish brass, and such a bowl would shine up beautifully...

A Large antique Korean faceted, ten sided, storage Jar with a matching lid. Such jars were a part of a Korean kitchen, and were used to store honey and molasses. The jar measures, with lid, about 9 3/4" high x 8 1/2" in diameter, and the mouth opening is 3 5/8" across. The lid appears to be original to the Jar. The Jar is in good condition. There are several chips on the underside of the lid, and around the mouth, and there is a 1/4" kiln crack on the mouth...
