JJ Oriental
Sold. Thank you A very rare carved wooden Buddha dating back to the 15th century or before. Size: H. 26.5cm. Condition: Natural ageing. The right hand is missing and a portion of the base has worn away.
Chinese Qing dynasty Yongzheng to Qianlong period round form deep plate decorated in underglaze blue on a white porcelain ground with a central panel of lotus flowers and leaves surrounded by a band of peonies and scrolling foliage extending around the well. A similar band decorates the exterior. The base and foot rim are unglazed. 11” diameter x 2” high. 18th century. Very good overall condition. There are original production flaws along the rim (see enlargement 11)...
