Sold. A dark blue satin woman's garment, dating to the late Qing dynasty, with center opening fastened with a gilt metal ball button and two ribbons. The four lobed collar, terminating in ruyi heads, and all wide hems extravagantly embroidered with romance figures in Peking stitch and little gold thread couching. Trimmed with different woven borders, the straight sleeves with embroidered outer cuff bands. Later figured blue silk lining. Condition: very good, only partial little staining...

Per images, note crackled surface, several small pockmark chips and what appears to be a hairline in the glaze. Slight warpage. Diameter: 9 and half + inches.
Depicting a running figure, possibly a saint or deity. Diameter 10,5 cm. Condition: Fritting and minor chips to the rim. Provenance: Dutch private collection, collected in Indonesia ca. 40 years ago. Jiajing ( 1522-1566 ).
