Sold Pair of Exquisite Chinese soapstone carvings of fu dogs, one male and one female with her baby. The pedestals on which the fu dogs stand show motif panels of horses in various form and pose.
Provenance: From a private estate, originally purchased at Morcom's House of Beautiful Things - Oakland, which closed in the 1920s. Dates from the 18th/19th century Dimensions: 3" x 2" x 6 3/4" H

£650.00 A rare early (female) Buddhist Guardian Lion painted with unevenly distributed crackular over glaze turquoise enamel. This item was probably made in China during the 17th or early 18th Century.
Condition: very good - there are many small under glaze firing cracks; there is glaze loss to both eyes and there is 'kiln grit' to the base. No chips or external cracks and no repairs or restoration...

Price on Request Chinese rare Sancai glazed pottery figure of a standing horse. The saddle pad is glazed with four colors including a rare blue. The saddle itself is covered with a vermillion slip and naturalistically modeled with sweeping folds of fabric. Most exquisite is the graceful arching of the horses neck, the slight turn of the perfectly proportioned head, and one whimsically turned back ear. With TL test papers.
Tang Dynasty 618-907 Dimensions: 21 1/2" high x 19" long Song Dynasty incised bowl with floral motifs in the cavetto and mottled brown glaze. In over-all good condition with one very light hairline that becomes apparent in high resolution images....high resolution images may be emailed to you on request... Diameter: 7.75 inches; height: 3.75 inches.

Her interesting looped hairdo is parted into two bunches that rest atop the sides of her head. The figure has most of the original pigments, some of which have worn off over the years.Very difficult to find one that has not been restored.
Period: Tang (618 - 907 AD)
