Sold. Thank you A very rare Chinese Nanmu scholar's table chest. Nanmu wood has been used in China since the Han dynasty and is very prized by collectors as it is difficult to find. I feel that it is rarer than huanghuali. I have only come across one Nanmu scholar's chest in all the years that I have been collecting.

Framed Chinese 18th century imperial blue ground gold dragon kesi fragment. This twisted gold dragon is surrounded by five color lingzhi shaped clouds. Dragon robes for the emperor contain nine dragons on them and this fragment pretty much sure is the front badge because of the empty space at the upper left corner where is to reserve for the edge to do extra work and decoration to sew buttons to the side of the robe...

$3,200.00 Two characters with bird beaks serving as incense holders. They are in sandstone covered with lead glassures of three colors (sancai), yellow, green and manganese, these models also have a part enamelled in white. Models with animal masks are much rarer than those with human faces and probably represent the animals of the zodiac. Good condition, almost not worn, a broken and glued head visible on photos. The glassure is finely cracked. Height: 325mm. Chinese work probably 17°, but maybe before.

This impressive pottery jar was, incredibly, made around 4,500 years ago during the Banshan Phase (c. 2600 - 2300 BC) of the Majiayao culture, also known as the Gansu-Yangshao culture, from present day Gansu or Qinghai province.
