All original hand forged iron hardware including the Kakute style handles which mimics the angular square lock plates of the drawers. The six drawers of varying sizes allows for functional organizing and spacious storage. Side handles allow one to carry the tansu from room to room.

SOLD An antique Japanese Nagoya Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. Made in 2 sections, the upper portion has two sets of sliding doors with spacious storage while the bottom section has 9 drawers, a pair of sliding doors and a pair of hinged doors that provided storage and organizing of daily Japanese culinary tools, gadgets and utensils. Constructed using double mitered through mortise and tenon Japanese joinery.

In very good condition there are a few age cracks which do not affect the integrity of the piece. There is some glue residue on the bottom where she was attached to an old lamp base. Japanese mid-century sosaku hanga woodblock print depicting a horse in a stable by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997). Signed in black ink at the lower left and with the artist's red seal above. Unlimited edition dating circa 1960. Paper size: 11 1/2" x 17 1/8" (image: 10 1/8" x just over 15"). The print was never framed and is in very good overall condition and color with full margins. There is some waviness to the paper and a couple of the margin corners have creases.

USD $425.00 A fine and rare MING DYNASTY JARLET with craquelé light brown glaze and splashes of blue and white glaze here and there. The base is also glazed except for the resting ring on the base. Found in the MUSI RIVER, close to Palembang City, which was the Capital of the SRIVIJAYA KNGDOM and which had a vast trade network with China and Siam. Condition overall good, one inconsequential chip on the lip of the top ring. Size:height 13 cm x 13 cm. diameter at the center. Rare Collector's item!

Price on Request Prominently displayed on the wall of the Sejong Room of Korea's Presidential Residence (The Blue House) is a painting by Lim Ok Sang (born 1950). The painting here from 2019 is large at 50 x 49 inches (127 x 124.5 cm), and the beautiful frame chosen by the artist is 56.5 x 55.5 inches (143.5 x 141 cm).
Two similar examples of paintings in ink and soil can be seen in the catalogue of Lim Ok Sang's retrospective exhibition currently at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul...
