A staff final made of iron, the top looks like a pagoda having 8 metal rings and some pendants. These staffs were traditionally carried by Buddhist monks, particularly in East Asian and used as walking aid, weapon and rhythmic instrument. Condition: traces of usage, rusty and slightly bent part. Dimension: 24.6 cm long.

Fierce depiction of Hanuman, wood statue carved in Bali. This is very beautiful exemplifying the skill of Bali carvers. Excellent condition. H: 24cm/9.5in.

Fine and rare two paneled wedding blanket from the Bouyi, Buyi ethnic group in Changshun area Guizou, China. Woven from all handspun cotton thread. The blue and white center field has a “wanzi” swastika meander pattern while the upper and lower parts are the repetitive “well” symbols. This dates circa 1960’s. Without border- L 130cm/51in and W: 72cm/28in, with border- L: 176cm/69in and W: 114cm/28in. A stunning piece- almost has a Mark Rothko feeling to it.

Old katazome (stencil-resist dye) cloth for kimono with ho-oh (pheonix) and karakusa (arabesque) motif which is made of handspun cotton and vegetable indigo dye. It is old as length of katazome is about 13,5cm, so that katazome has to be repeated many times. 19th century. Excellent condition. W:34cm, L:154cm

It is also called "Urumi-zome" It is said it was produced in Sendai in Miyagi prefecture or Iwate prefecture both are in Tohoku district, however, it hasn't been confirmed. Excellent condition. Futonji made of handspun cotton and vegetable indigo dye which has "Ume and Uguisu" (cherry blossom and Japanese nightingale) motif, a symbol of spring. It has characters "シツカ”shi-tsu-ka, probably the weaver's name. It is woven domestically for futonji. Good condition but has a mending patch (7cm x 4cm) Late 19th to early 20th century. Japanese antique maki-e lacquer jūbako, tiered boxes for food. Made up of five square compartments and a lid. The lacquer design is of bamboo and tendrils of berry vines (either Japanese wineberry or raspberry) in gold and red lacquer on a black ground. The insides of the boxes are lacquered an orangish-red.

Age: Meiji Period (1868-1912)

Chinese jadeite carving of a fu dog crouched on a large coin. Carved of lovely white and apple-green natural jadeite. The fu dog symbolizes protection while the coin represents wealth. Together they make a strong talisman for prosperity and good fortune.
