An attractive Japanese blue and white porcelain soba choko with banana leaf, fence and chidori in mist decoration supported by single blue line all over double blue line. The inside rim with blue and white fret band and the bottom inside with a single flower within double blue line. A large, heavy dish painted on the inside with prunus branches and blossom and with stylized bamboo to the reverse. This item was made for export in the 19th Century, possibly during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 30cm (11.9inches0 diameter. A rare 18th/19th Century carved agate snuff bottle with, possibly later, silver and rose quartz stopper. On the stopper is inscribed the Shanghai silversmiths "Wen Yuan" who are recorded as having traded from the Jiaqing (1796-1820) reign through until the Republic period (1912- 1949). Condition - excellent - there is a shallow chip on top, next to the mouth (please view enlargement 11) no further damages and no restoration. 5cm (2inches) high; 4.8cm (1.9 inches) wide.

A whimsical khaki green-yellow glazed Japanese pottery figural sake pot depicting a tanuki trying to make off with a proportionately larger sake barrel. Early 20th century to turn of that century. Good condition. Height 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm). About 4 1/2 inches (11.4cm) length from tanuki's nose.

A large Shinshoku Ware-tsubo eroded through natural processes during firing with a shattered rim attached to the body at the shoulder. This piece is a virtual textbook on Yohen firing effects. Tamadare, Shinshoku, koge and other effects are supplanted by a large white kutsuki on the front, all under the shadow of the shattered rim fused to the shoulder. Description:

A Longquan celadon censer was uniquely in tripod form.
Uniquely also was the gourd body and the decorations on the surface.
The censer was heavily potted concerning it's size.
And it was fat-glazed.
The glaze was in slightly darken green tint.
Crackles and glaze fret were resulted due to age.
Supported stylized by three evert feet, it was presented as a beautiful item as a true old piece by all the characteristics revealed.

19th Century Sharkskin Head Band Case with Lacquered Dragon and Many Fine Details. A string would have been looped through either the lacquered dragon or the brass ring on the lid.
