$5,000.00 Antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest) made of kuri (chestnut) wood in warm brown lacquer finish. Each drawer face is decorated with elegant iron hardware accenting. The middle of the chest has two sliding doors with a center locking pin, with two more drawers and shelving within. Keys are included. Dates from late Edo period c1850.

Provenance: from the estate of the late actor James Coburn.

SOLD Antique Vietnamese bowl with goldenrod celadon crackle glaze. The outer rim has two sets of incised parallel lines. The inside center has five textured points in a star formation with thick pooled black glaze. The bottom half of the bowl has textured vertical striations with rich glaze pooling around the foot. Dates from Tran Dynasty 13th/14th century. From a private California collection.

Marked Wang Hing on one of the bottom legs, it is in excellent condition and measures 5 inches high. Across, the shell measures 8.75' at its longest point and 7" at its shortest distance.
