It is 7 inches (17.8 cm) in inner circumference. Each menuki is 1.4 inches (3.6 cm) long by 0.74 inch (1.9 cm) wide. It is 96.2 gram.

19th century Japanese tetsubin - cast iron teapot - with irregular shaped skirt and body shaped like a coastal rock with 5 crabs scuttling around its surface and crevices. Very good early piece of relatively large size with nicely textured surface, original cover, bronze rings holding the handle, old loss to the tip of the spout. Some rust as to be expected on an old piece that was used. Extremely nice quiet object in Japanese taste. Body height 6 inches, height with handle 11 inches.
