Rope and cloth patterns are impressed creating deeply textured shadows on this free form ceramic sculpture awarded the Kyoto Governors prize, and dated on bottom Heisei 10 (1998) by Yasuda Kayo. A pale ash glaze runs in sheets and rivulets over the lined and creased surface, with the top bursting open. This piece is 15 kilograms, 16 inches (40 cm) diameter, 18 inches (45 cm) tall and in fine condition...

Other with one female poet and two male poet. Two windows with Chrysanthemum desing with fence. Very fine detail works. Nice gold works which photo relly does not cature the whole details gold works. The condition of plate is Excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline from outside force...

A sculptural Green form by Yamazaki Akira (Yamazaki Koyo II, b. 1927), one of several enigmatic works we have acquired by this artist dating from the 1970s to early 80s. With the right lighting we can see a pattern of large black spots under the glaze on the bottom half of the body reminding me of the flintstones. The vase is 17 x 7-1/2 x 10 inches (43 x 19 x 25 cm) tall and in fine condition, signed on the base Akira. There is no box...

A 13th.century ko seto Kamakura vase in elegantly-shaped meiping form, with a gradual outward curve on the shoulder, with short-knopped neck, incised beneath the greenish-yellow / olive glaze.

The box was added by our gallery 20 years ago. It was made by a tomobako artist, and there is written 'ko seto kamakura vase' if my memory does not fool me. The vase is decorated with kanji letters.

Marked on the bottom ( maybe a kiln mark ).

The circular dish made of fine milky white porcelain decorated in overglaze enamels as iron-red, blue, green, yellow, black and gold. The well painted with a prunus tree, coiled dragon and ho-o bird. The reverse with scrolls. Condition: fine, the green enamel with partial spalling. Dimension: diameter: 20.9 cm.

An antique Japanese imari ware covered basin. The basin is decorated with traditional auspicious Japanese motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum, and cranes. Along with the auspicious motifs are designs often seen with imari wares such as scrolling vines and chrysanthemum-like patterns. Often, these patterns are known as kinrande, where the motifs are emulating gold brocades. Age: Meiji Period Size: Diameter 11.5" Height 7"

A round vase decorated with various flowers, emulating the Chinese style of porcelain known as mille fleur. The work was produced by the contemporary kutani artist, Nakata Kingyoku. A beautiful antique Japanese Imari ware bowl. The bowl is decorated with motifs of phoenixes, plum flowers, scrolling vines, peony like patterns, and other geometric patterns. The bowl contains a pomegranate symbol on the bottom. Age: Taisho-Showa Period Size: Diameter 10.25" Height 4.2"

A hexagonal faceted gourd shaped vase decorated in a style not often found in traditional Kutani ware, but more so in traditional Japanese kinrande style porcelains. The vase is decorated in auspicious motifs. The top area of the gourd contains stylized characters of the word, "eternal longevity".Age: Showa Period Size: Diameter 7" Height 11.5"

Fantastic antique Japanese Kutani ware sculpture of one of the fortune deities known as Hotei. The figure is carrying a child who is trying to clean the ears of Hotei. Hotei is interestingly dressed with motifs of dragons and scrolling clouds, inspired by Chinese brocades. The different symbols used on the figure are associated with the auspicious character of the deity. Age: Taisho Period c1912 Size: Length 5" Width 4" Height 10.5"

This is a 17th century Karatsu ware tokkuri made of oldest Karatsu clay.
