A breathtaking work in perfect green porcelain glaze by Shimada Fumio enclosed in the original sined wooden box titled Seihakuji Budo-cho mon Tsubo (Celadon Tsubo Carved with Grape Designs). It was exhibited at the Shimada Fumio Sakuto 40 Shunen ten and Gendai Kogei Fujino Ten (2014). The vase is 20 cm (8 inches) diameter, the same height, and is in excellent condition.
Shimada Fumio is undoubtedly one of the greatest artists working in porcelain in Japan today...

The Size of Tolkkuri: 4 5/8" High x 2 3/8" Dia, 2 1/16" Bottom. The size of Each Sake Cup: 1 5/8" Dia x 1 13/16" High. This is very unusual and fine classy Japanese Kiyomizu Yaki Sake set by Sawamura Tosai 3 rd (1951-). It is made with fine quality Kiyomizu Yaki refine earthern body. The wall thickness on Tokkuri is only 1/16" Thick less than 2 mm. So as Sake cup has only 1 mm thick on wall. Tokkuri as well as 2 sake cup has the hand written signature of Tosai in blue underglaze (sometsuke)...

A superb example of the mastery of Bizen Saiku-mono sculptures by Nishimura Shunko dating to the pre-war era. The musculature and bone structure of the creature is clearly visible, and it wears a cloak of ash glaze like fur, the tail actually covered in dry “goma” textured ash, and the lower extremities showing a fine assortment of Hi-iro flame colors on the raw clay. Stylistically there appears to be some influence of the pottery technique of Okinawan Shisa (lions)...

A fabulous large porcelain vase by Daimaru Hoppo (Hokuho) enclosed in the original signed and compartmentalized wooden box complete with a rosewood base. The vase is a perfect example of the Sinophile aesthetic that permeated Japanese art in the early 20th century. A pair of Chinese antique monochrome Clair de Lune glaze porcelain vases set on a decorative hardwood stands. A small gold leaf repair is done to the lip of the vases in the Kintsugi style. The vases are a pale blue with tall rounded shoulders and the unglazed bases and recessed footing with Kangxi inscription.

A mukuzuke or serving dish of raised barbed lotus form with a moulded ribbed cavetto decorated in underglaze blue with gilt outlined enamels dating to circa 1740-70. The unusual form of the dish follows Chinese “Ko Sometsuke” precedents of the first half of the 17th century; see “The Peony Pavillion” lot 220 for a Chinese example of the Chongzhen period, where this particular form is considered to have been especially made for the kaiseki meal accompanying the Tea ceremony.
