This is very fine Japanese white ceramic porcelain cup and saucer set. It is made by Tosho Kiln, Seto city in Japan. The quality of porcelain is superb with finely and thinly made body in the design of ribbed relief work. You can see thru the light when holding under light. Each cup and saucer has marking on Tosho on the bottom of items. It came with nice gift box...

A true part of Kyoto modern ceramic history, this robust vase reminiscent of Okinawan Kaki-otoshi ware was created at the Kyoto 2nd Industrial School circa 1925. It comes in the original wooden box titled Black Glazed Vase with Flower Motif, and signed inside Kyoto Shiritsu Dai Ni Kogyo Gakko followed by a large red seal. It is 27 cm tall, 23 cm diameter and in excellent condition. The roots of the mingei movement, ravaging the Japanese ceramic world at the time, are clearly evident...

Large peach-shaped bowl decorated on in- and outside with a bold Rinpa design of flowering red, white and blue camellias and leaves. Over a cream-colored coarse stoneware a thin layer of cream-colored slip has been applied, on top of which overglaze blue, black, green, red, white enamels and gold.

On the outside in a white rectangular reserve with black outlines the signature Kenzan. Japan, 1950s.

In the style of Ogata Kenzan or Ogata Kenzan studio.

Signature Shunju colorful glaze decorates this expressive vessel by Murakoshi Takuma enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Tobe! (Fly!). The wide piece is like a bird, wings spread wide as it sets to leap for the sky. He says that he made this shape specifically in memory of his wife, who loved flowers. It is 53 cm (21 inches) wide and in perfect condition, directly from the artist.

One with a cork stopper crowned by a small silver bird. Height: "2 ¼ /6 cm, diameter: "3 ¾ / 9 cm. Condition: small glaze crack near the mouth to one jar, otherwise fine.

We like to offer a rare antique Tako-Tsubo Akashi Vase, made 120 years ago during the Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912). This vase is designed to imitate a 'TAKO-TSUBO', an traditional octopus trap. Sculptures of two octopuses are incorporated into the vase.

Enigmatic natural forms seem fossilized on the white surface of this rare guinomi by female pottery star Hattori Makiko enclosed in a black lidded wooden box signed and dated inside Heisei 27 (2015) and titled simply Shuki. It is 7.5 cm (3 inches) diameter and in excellent condition. This was from way back when we could acquire works by her. Those days are long gone, and this is the last of its kind.
Hattori Makiko was born in Aichi prefecture in 1984. She graduated the Aichi Prefectur...
