Lovely old hand tailored Moiré heavy blue silk men’s chapan. I purchased this over 30 years ago in Peshawar (and has been in storage ever since), so I assume it is Pashtun. It was old when I bought so it is safe to say it is at least 50 years old. It is an excellent condition, no tears, stains etc and still quite wearable. There are shoulder pads, one inner pocket, and two slit pockets on the oustside. Shoulder width 53cm, chest width 65cm, sleeve length 66cm and full length 112cm...

A rectanglar Bhutanese silver betel box with a hinged, domed lid. The cover decorated in repoussé, chasing and engraving showing a Buddhist lion among flower tendrils, highlighted in gold. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: c. 10.8 x 6.5 x 4.2 cm, weight: 159 g.

This is a very fine and rare antique/vintage piece circa 55/60 years old in perfect condition. I purchased this in 1990 and it has been in storage ever since. This was embroidered by the Dhebaria Rabari ethnic group from East Kutch, it should be noted that this group has ceased doing embroidery over 40 years ago. W: 120cm/47.2in and H: 73cm/28.8in. The silk triangular pieces at the bottom are probably a later addition...

This beautifully preserved antique Tibetan thangka features Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, seated in a meditative posture at the center, radiating serenity and divine presence...

Rare elaborately created kapala with a rock crystal "skull cap", put inside a sort of bowl made of an open work gilt copper garland of 11 Citipati skulls, with three Citipati skulls and a fierce Mahakala head on its rim, the whole group resting on an openwork gilt copper stand sustained by three standing Citipati. Tibet, early 20th century. Height: 20.5 cm. Length: 15.7 cm. Very good condition.

Antique Himalayan stele of Vishnu on Garuda carved of brown Mithuna stone. The Hindu God, Vishnu is shown here on his mount (vahana), Garuda. The giant bird deity (with the power to go anywhere), is carved in anthropomorphic form. The crowned figure of Vishnu holds four of his attributes: the conch shell, the club (or mace), the discus, and the lotus (padma)...

A rare and powerful image of the Lion-headed Dakini, Simhamukha, a major Nyingmapa yidam, in a jumping/dancing pose. She holds chopper and skull cup in her hands and has the skin of a corpse slung over her shoulders. Carved in precious Zitan wood, remains of colors and gold. Large zitan images are often made of several parts due to scarcity of this type of wood. In this case the image is made of two pieces of zitan. H 19.5 cm...

A fine pair of very old wood funnels for sowing, with a circular top and a squarish base for one and a rectangular base for the other. Holes are perforated through, from top to base, to let seeds be poured on the top, pass through and be scattered on the soil. Both are decorated with carved Hindu designs in relief on the body, one with god Ganesh and the other with Nandi bull, a Hindu deity and a symbol. They were made in India around the beginning of the 19th century...

Antique bronze figure of a Hindu or Jain deity from the 16th-17th century, Southern India, Tamil Nadu, during the Vijayanagar Empire (1336-1646 A.D.).

A figure depicting a goddess is seated on a platform in Dhyanasana. She wears a sash that hangs across her hip and is adorned with a long necklace, bracelets on her wrists, and armbands...

Very rare Citipati phurbu, finely carved, representing, from top to bottom, first a circular platform in relief decorated with stylised lotuses, below four Citipati skulls in relief with a pitcher and a trident in between, then below the "handle" with a chevron design, and finally the bottom "blade" with a "makara" head in relief with two snakes in relief behind it. The phurbu is made of wood, with a fine age patina and some abrasion due to great age. Height: 27.5 cm...

A rare round Indian pandan, a lidded betel container, made of zinc alloy, decorated with drop pattern between scroll bordures, finely inlaid in silver and brass. The interior of both halves, of the thinly worked box, with concentric rings. Please compare Zebrowski's "Gold, Silver & Bronze from Mughal India" 1997, no. 469. Condition: rim losses, lid with hole, some inlays lost. Dimension: diameter c. 14.8 cm, c. 11.7 cm high.

A pair of antique Indian miniature portraits of the 3rd Mughal Emperor Akbar (1542-1605) and his favorite wife, Empress Mariam-uz-Zamani. Emperor Akbar ruled from 1556-1605. His wife, Mariam-uz-Zamani, was born Jodha Bair, a Hindu-Rajput princess. She later gave birth to Salim, who succeeded Akbar as Emperor Jahangir. Shown here, the royal Mughal couple are painted in gouache and mounted in oval frames...

The lush garden is inhabited with various birds and a cat. Mughal version of a Deccani school painting. Gouache and burnished gold on paper.

Antique original Tibetan traveling inscribed metal brush case. Inscribed by hand of floral garden landscape mixed with scholar like objects. Original patina consistent with age. Two loops, one on the lid and the other od the long cylindrical side, provide a place to secure and tie in place. The top and bottom are flare out and brought to a point.
