$700.00 Carved wooden cup representing large lotus leaves and buds on which evolve a crab and a shrimp. The feet are made up of snails. Although the carving work is of excellent quality, the wood used is not purple sandalwood. Part of the edge has been broken as shown in the photo, but this does not affect the aesthetics of the object. In addition, restoration work is possible with a perfect result.

He wears the typical long Tao robe and crown shape hat. On the back of statue, there is a covered niche for the storage of prayer rolls. Wood with colours with very good details. China, Late Qing Dynasty. H. 32,5 x L 19 x W 11cm. Good condition.

In very good condition there are a few age cracks which do not affect the integrity of the piece. There is some glue residue on the bottom where she was attached to an old lamp base. Measures 11.5" high, 4.75 inches across, 3.75 inches deep

The details are finely incised but are almost all covered by the paintings. The hand was made apart. The expression of the face is calm, attentive and benevolent. The movement of the fabrics is elegant.Traces of textiles.Yuan style but I am not able to certify the authenticity because there are so many copies...

Purchased from Askenasi in Paris in 1978 by Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. Irwin Hersey was an advisor to museums and prominent collectors, and vetted pieces for many of the international tribal art fairs and Asian art fairs. 8.5 x 5 x 2 inches, 21.5 x 12.5 x 5 cm.

$450.00 A finely carved Chinese boxwood statue of the Tang poet Li Bai. Dressed in official attire with a scroll in his right hand, Li Bai appears to be deep in thought as he strokes his beard. Attached to a wooden base, it measures 9.5 inches high as pictured. Base measures 3.5” square. Condition is excellent. Dates circa 1900.
