Intricately hand carved wood brush pot with various scenes of Chinese daily life by Chinese artist Shuyuan Zhang of Shunyi Beijing, China. In excellent original condition, it measures 5 1/8 inches high x 4" diameter. Dates pre 1980.

It was hand-carved and shaped in bridge-type.
Well preserved in perfect condition, this Inkstone owned the original mood of scholarship.

A Chinese antique brush pot make of Huanghuali wood, late Ming Dynasty to early Qing Dynasty, 17th century. Condition: There are chips and age cracks, please study the photos for condition details. Height: 15cm, diameter: 15cm.

A pair of small bronze foo dogs or foo lions created by the lost-wax casting process, showing traces from the mold. Both have a wonderful warm patina and would make excellent brush rests for a calligrapher's or artist's detail brushes. In excellent condition, they measure about 2" long x 1.5 inches high.

An oval box made of white brass (baitong). The top lid incised with banana leaves, chrysanthemum and bamboo. The inside of the lid with an abrasive surface for grinding ink. With copper lining and base. Dimension: 7.6 cm x 5.8 cm x 2.6 cm. Condition: traces of use, top lid with spot and some wear.

A charming little blue and white Chinese water dropper in excellent condition without hairlines or restoration. Circa 1900-10, it measures 2 inches high.

Chinese Qing dynasty natural root form scholar’s bitong, or brushpot. 7 1/2” high. The base measures about 6” diameter at the longest part. The rim is about 4 5/8” across at the widest part. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition. There is a short crack at the inner rim that extends to the interior of one thin concave area on the exterior. This piece is from the private collection of former American expatriates to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.

A rare and beautiful, flattened form bamboo box with cover, probably used as a seal paste or brush washer. It is carved out from the root part of bamboo and nicely polished. Inside the lid a compass (no longer functioning). Qing, 18–19th cent. H 3 cm, D 7,5 cm. Condition: Over-all fine, and really good, old patina, but with small chip to lid.

Chinese Bamboo Brush pot, carved design was highlighted with black lacquer ink and filled in, 5 3/8" high, 1 7/8" x 1 3/4" wide-top rim, Ca. before 1920's, incised black decoration of figure under the tropical tree next to bamboo fence. The condition is good.

A large natural wood lacquered brush pot with a natural burl forming in the center. The base of the pot is fairly thick. Age: late Ming. Size:H.22.5cm. L.26.5cm. W.at the base. 15.5cm. Condition. Some minor old repairs. Three old clips ,two on the rim and one on the base (see photos),possibly added during construction.
