This long handled basket is out of Shanxi Province. There are the remnants of the original woven rattan "ring" on the handle which allowed the basket to be hung from a hook on the ceiling rafters...safe from rodents... Inside the rim of The outer basket, there is a smaller basket which allows for a separate food storage area... 25 inches tall and 10 inches wide at the bottom

Chinese Rosewood Abacus, 11 1/2" long, 4 1/4" wide, 1 1/8" high, carved Chinese Characters between decks. The condition is as is but not damaged.

Chinese wooden Rice Cake Mold with Lotus Seed design, Ca. 1930, 9 1/2" long, 3 3/4" wide-widest part, hand saw mark, the condition is used old worn out and patina on wood.

Good Karen basket waterproofed with natural tree lacquer, good condition- i.e. no damage. Circa 40 to 50 years- purchased in the 1990s in Mae Hong Song, along the Thai/Burmese border. I was back there recently and old baskets have all sold out. See last enlargement for reference.

Paper fan, mounted on rib and guard flat sticks, made of wood nicely lacquered and gold painted with elaborate human, geometric and floral designs. The paper part is made of two concentric bands, richly decorated on both sides with polychrome, gold and silver hand painted miniature scenes showing different characters on various situations. The heads of the characters are painted on ivory, and their garments are made of colored silk, all glued on the paper base...

Chinese carved wood Cake Mold with handle, Ca. 1930's, hand carved Lotus flower mold, carved out of raw wood, 8 1/2" long, 3 3/4" wide, 1" thick, shows rough raw wood surface with saw mark.

Chinese carved Wood Rice Cake Mold, Ca. 1930's, 9 1/2" long, 4 3/4" wide, 1" thick, with deep carved Chinese Peach and "Long Life" in Chinese Character in the center, very decorative and well carved out of raw piece of wood and hand saw mark in the back outside. The condition shows wear and tear.

Chinese heavy carved Stone Slab with Rabbit carving on one side and Floral branch on the other side, Ca. 19th C. 12 1/2" high, 14 1/2" wide, 5 1/2" deep on bottom plat form section. Nicely aged old look, the condition is good, no major damages.

Chinese dome top woven Bamboo Basket on attached high stand, Ca. before 1900, 11 1/2" high, 11" diameter top rim with brass hinged round dome top. Two(2) Brass handles on the both sides and Brass lock compartment in front. Two(2) brass rings hold the top and bottom together. Low relief Chinese floral design on the lacquered gesso panels on the high foot. Gesso applied on the cloth finish, and glued together inside the top rim area...

Substantial sized Chinese late Qing dynasty Guangxu period tobacco pipe with bamboo stem, horn (probably ox-horn) mouth piece, and baitong (paktong, or white brass) bowl and shank. The pipe measures 23” (61cm) in length and the bamboo stem is about 1” (2 to 2 ½cm) wide. Late 19th to early 20th century. Clearly well used but in very good overall condition. There is a small crack in the mouth piece (see enlargement 3)...

The Chinese people smoked both opium (thanks to the British) and tobacco. This antique pipe was made and used by the ethnic minority of the mountain region of SW China.

Chinese woven Lacquered Reed Hat Box with lacquer decorated wide wooden band, with metal hinges, 12" high, 17" diameter, round dome top and bottom. Lacquered and painted design of Chinese lady carrying Lantern, and floral lacquer design on the wide wooden band. Metal hinges in front and back are somewhat loose and few metal buttons are missing. There are some normal wear and tear.

Chinese Polychrome painted on Wood Storage Box or Trunk, "as is" condition, 18" high, 26" x 20" wide, wood is light weight, with floral painting on one(1) side, Chinese Opera Scenery on the other side, with metal handle on both side on top of the floral decoration, top doesn't fit tightly, the reed wrapping is loose.

Chinese Wooden Grain Measuring Bucket, 11" high, 7 1/4" square-top, 14" square-bottom, with heavy black iron mounted frame with multiple studded iron nails, the heavy iron frame covers around the top rim, underneath 2 sides with attached wooden handles. Bottom area of black iron mounted frame is somewhat rusted and damaged with age, and some age cracks on wood.

19th Century Chinese Hardwood grain measuring Bucket with Brass trim and incised "Kuang Hsu" Emperor's mark on the side, made for celebration event, late 1800's, 5 5/8" high, 9" square-top, 9 1/4" square-bottom, top has brass mounted handle in the center as well as bottom corners. It is heavy weight made out of Rosewood, has two(2) cracks on the bottom.

Chinese Bamboo Wall Hanger, 3 1/4" high 15" wide with slightly curved, with five(5) separate hooks pegged into the main bamboo piece. Black cloth rope wrapped around the both end, that is part of decoration. The condition is good, ready to hang with brass eye screws on the top.

Chinese natural Bamboo Container or bucket, 7 1/2" high with lid, 9" diameter for lid, wrapped around with the twisted metal wire. The condition is good, some separation between the vertical bamboo pieces.
